Photo-detective - a bit of fun

Just a bit of fun and I dont know the answer but this was a contest image and I thought it would be a bit of fun here.
The telegraph pole has had its shadow removed and the contest was to determine the exact position of the end of where the shadow should have been

Do we know the latitude and longitude of the house? Or at least what town it is in? I heard about this competition. Apparently they will give the house away to the person who correctly predicts the position of the shadow. Has it been won yet?

Nancy
I don't know if I'm right but I put in a shadow based on the shadow cast by the bushes.

Re: Photo-detective - a bit of fun

Well, if you look at the other shadows, they are twice as long as their objects. They also all have the exact same angle. So I made the shadow twice as long as the pole and "eyed" the angle to match the other shadows.

Nice place Reedness, just by the side of the River Ouse, about 2-3 miles E of Goole.

Not the place for those who like a lively lifestyle.

Re: Photo-detective - a bit of fun

Little Fisher: If the light source were behind the pole, as your shadow depicts, then it would also be behind the building and the entire front of the building would be in shadow. Since it is not, the light must be slightly in front of the building (and therefore the pole as well).

Re: Photo-detective - a bit of fun

Lonnie, I think you're right. I totally missed the shadow that was cast from the building going all the way to the right instead of in front. I think the shadow from the roof threw me off the trail.
