It's from a adv. campaign here in Brazil, with the Top Model Gisele Bündchen. They put her in a water dress!

that's a great composition. I've never masked those splashy-spilling water shots before, but imagine it would be a major pain with the transparencies.

I've tried once.... it's painfull XD

Teacher of mine said that they usually mix hard light, screen and linear light to make water transparent.... and of course, in grayscale.

It wasn't.

What they're sayin here is that Gisele Bündchen was photographed in NY and another brasilian model was photographed here. They took 10.000 pictures from the second model. 3 Days of work. She stands in front of camera and while water was throwed on her.

After that, they bind both model's pictures....

Sitting here pondering the poor second model's fee for three days of having water thrown on her. I thought modeling was supposed to be a real glamour job

One is a Big top model, the other is still beginning (20 years old, I think).....

Very Nice.

Water is not so hard to mask out depending on how it was shot etc. Calculations can give you both the edge and the transparency quite nicely.
This stuff was great, very creative.

chris, i figured calculations would be best way to go with it, would just take a little experimenting depending on background. plus maybe some overlay layers. maybe i'll search for a hirez shot and try it out.

hey chris, having trouble coming across a hirez water shot, decent one at least, would you mind taking a crack at this one, i'll give it a shot on my end, and we'll compare? Or do you need something better quality maybe? let me know. thanks.

what i'll try and do is mask it saving some opaqueness, with a mix of transperency so that i can stick some image or lettering behind it, and then give it that distorted looking through glass look.

Yours was easier than kr1156's. At least yours was only one calculations move and one apply image move.
His is a little more complicated because of the glass, which I guess you can paint out the rim.

I will post the settings in each tool. JMB, you will need to make your higher quality image available somehow.

I will post them on Monday. Just had a bone graft an hour ago so not really up to it.

I am willing to bet Stroker can come up with something way better than what I did. Wonder if he will come out of his rock for this....?

I'm new to all this here...what do you guys mean by calculation concerning the water?!

I was astonished by the effects here...and all thos pictures put together! it was nic to see! They have thrown the water in special directions to get it to "bend" so they can achieve this water/clothes effect?
