| | How To Make A CD Look Like it's Laying Flat? Hi All!
I have a question about warping an image. I want to take a series of CD's and make them look like they are sort of tilted, and lying flatish.
What I am trying to do can be seen in the image I posted called Example.jpg... what I have right now is in the file called cds.jpg.
I can create the 3-d box, no problem, but how woudl I lay the cd's in a tilted fashion?
I tried all the warp tools, but they don't seem to work to get the job done.
Thanks for any help! |

| | | Re: How To Make A CD Look Like it's Laying Flat? Ant I tried perspective, and used Shift and dragged in the bottoms... but I made a royal mess of it.
How should I approach the image? Should I fan the Cd's out in a semi-circle first also?
And should I group this into a smart object first?
Sorry for all the questions!
Thanks so much!

| | | Re: How To Make A CD Look Like it's Laying Flat? no shift. grab the top first and pull it in and then grab the bottom and pull that in, a lot. Then you can warp it as you please, if need be. |

This is what I get and this is the way:
First: Perspective the down side of the picture (contract).
second: Filter, distort, lens correctión and apply a little bit more perspective.
Third: free transform, scale, moving the upside center square down, until you like de result.
Fourth: Warp. Now you have to play until you get yor result.
I hope it works for you. |

Before you apply the warp, you can try Filter > Distort > Lens Correction to rotate the object vertically or horizontally.

| | | Re: How To Make A CD Look Like it's Laying Flat? Select a CD, and copy it to a new layer. Enter free transform mode. Press ctrl-alt-shift, and drag one of the top corners towards the other top corner. Pull the top down and repeat the previous step. The CD will appear to be laying down. Add a drop shadow, and position them so they appear to be fanned out, however you want them. |

Otherwise the skew & rotate tools work OK. |
