Integrating photos

Thanks for any help in advance. I am new to this forum and am not sure I am even in the right place. I had someone give me a picture and they wanted their baby added to it. I took a picture of the baby and lit it basically like it looked in the pic. I cannot get it to look "old". They had the man in back added somewhere else too. Any help on how to "soften/ integrate" these would be helpful. I originally thought this was going to be quite easy. I am posting both pics so you can see. Thanks for the help, rem

Re: Integrating photos

Hi rem49,

photo compositing is a very delicate procedure even when the pictures used are similar in exposure, lighting, contrast, sharpness etc.. Here is an interesting Thread that deals with that.

Unfortunately, the pictures you posted are first very different in all aspects, in addition, the 'family web.jpg' one seems to have been already manipulated .... the contrast is much too strong and the shadows are solid dark grey blocks with no details whatsoever ....

If that image has been retouched already you could try to post the original scanning .... might be easier to work on...
