I used that 4th image to create this 2 years ago - the fairies are Poser renders.

Re: Fantasy Fairy art challenge

I love ObsidianDawn pixie wings, I tend to put them on everything...too much. lol

I used Automate>Photomerge>Interactive Layout to combine the two backgrounds. Something I wish I'd know for the Neptune challenge.

I just ran an action I made to improve the basic pictures it goes like this;
Increase the contrast of the red channel
De-noise the blue channel
Sharpen the green channel
(It's pretty amazing what this does on like camera phone pictures) I need to rewrite it because it can make some pictures too dark.
To mask the girls I used Apply Image>Linear Dodge to increase the contrast.

Re: Fantasy Fairy art challenge

Not good at compositing Palms, so I hid that behind a little rendering. Still not good (maybe a tad too much glitter and stuff; lol).

Lyle i think it is lovely (Honest) between you and me i think with compositing you can hide a lot of things like bad masking and get away with over the top ( have you seen mine ?)

Re: Fantasy Fairy art challenge

My first fairy picture, fun.
combined the two forest photos
cutout both girls
made some fairy wings for the taller girl
posed the dandelion picker capturing a fairy

The second is a larger fairy with the girl picking flowers.

Re: Fantasy Fairy art challenge

Palms, As usual your rocks. What really sets it off is the swirl around her. It almost looks like it's from a swipe of her hand.

Have you seen a movie called "Photographing Fairies"? I think you would like it.

Re: Fantasy Fairy art challenge

This was so fun, wish I could keep working on it but need to move on. Didn't turn out quite like what I had in mind but ok for my first fairy attempt. Love all the different posts. I really wanted to put some additional little fairy's like so many of you have but maybe next time :-)

Re: Fantasy Fairy art challenge

d....that was a nice idea putting her waist high in the ferns like that. Nice illusion of distance and it deals witht that awkward 1-foot feeling in the original.
