Re: Make Glass Bottle See Through, add Reflection

Hey mike60640...

That reflection looks pretty good (a little bit of Liquify to tweak, and a bit of blurring, and you'll have a credible reflection). And you're definitely heading in the right direction with the highlights.

A little bit of a tight soft shadow right around the base will help it to sit better (and maybe hide any imperfections in the nesting of the jar and its reflection below).

Looking good. Keep up the good work.

Hope you are doing well. Take care. Alan.

Re: Make Glass Bottle See Through, add Reflection

Hey guys,
Quick question. I don't often run into this problem and can't remember if there is a fix. I wanted to merge 3 layers (they're set to multiply and 2 to screen) into one normal layer and still retain the transparency. But of course the merge command make some of the areas shift in appearance. It is actually one of the screen mode layers that shifts in areas that are gray (they get black).

I tried Merge Visible, changing the order of the layers, etc...

Any tricks to this?

unimatrix001, nice tut thanks. Sort of what I did in a crude way. Think I'll try another using emboss and vivid blend on the second step.

Improved on the image through the glass some. Had fun working on these techniques and thanks for the tips and tuts.

Nicely done MiningArt. I just realized in my version I forgot to use the vivid light. I watch the tut and did everything but the vivid light... it does make a difference.
