Scarlett On The Hill

This is a location called Burrow Hill which is close to my home and a place where I have photographed many times. I decided this would make a perfect background for another image for my new portfolio.The plan was to shoot my neighbours beautiful horse Scarlett to add to the life section of my book.The shoot went well and many days of retouching later and a master file of well over 2 gigs in size the image is ready for printing….almost !

I love the mood...Great capture. You did a great job making everything work, from the sky to the grass, the hill and Scarlett. All the elements come together, looks very natural and pleasant to view. It will make a great print.

Anything you can share about the retouch part? Is is possible to see the before shot? Thank you for sharing.

All images shot with a 16.7 MP Canon 1ds Mk2.
Background is a 2 image stitch (panoramic)
Sky duplicated and stitched together
Horse shot in another location taking care with lighting camera heights and perspective.
Rest is just a matter of various colour,density adjustments and very careful masking !
