Photo books

Any one out there do wedding photobooks? Just wondering how you charge?
By the page? By the photo? Your time?

I found it really takes time....sort the photos...establish a story flow...retouch the photo...put the book together...review and edit...placing the order and hoping to God that you caught all the mistakes.

Feedback appreciated.

Re: Photo books

I am doing photobooks and we are charging by each page, it is really a difficult job to establish or modify your self for photo books but what we did by observing everyone around that we made lot of templates and divide all jobs between my staff like i give them all sorted images and then one person is doing retouching and other is doing extraction if needed and then they compile each picture for each page according to templates then We print them on our chromira , lamination, binding and then cover. its a complete setup and you have to take care of every little part because some times a very minor mistake damage your image.

Re: Photo books

The other concern I have with photo books is having an unhappy customer (maybe its just one picture) even after you told them numerous times to proof the book prior to it being published.

Re: Photo books

After pasting images to your templates we call our customers to come and check and after his aproval we send prints for printing. but we have maintained a standard of our book quality and we follow that.
also want to add that always we are trying to make and get more beautiful and creative ideas in order to make our books more and more beautiful.
Recently I have bought Aver's Power pix software its a good one but just to deliver fast production some times we have to , otherwise I love to do work on photoshop and it is the best.
