Composition

Hey,

I wanted to share with you a little movie, where I go through some of the layers of a retouch I recently completed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPujtfLq5-U

Watch it in 1080 and fullscreen for the full effect. The youtube compression kind of kills it, but it's still fun to watch. Photography by Stephen Wilkes and retouching by me and Andre Westerveld (houseofretouch.com) and 3D elements by Smoke&Mirrors.

Wow it is so amazing, just like lee mcqueen's hologram of kate! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIcsYBZSQ48 Is the dress 3D too? Or just your own flares made in ps with dodging? xo

Re: Composition

Dress is a combo of 3D flares, curves and some color fills.

Even though it's on my portfolio now, I made that movie to show my mom what it is I really do That's why it's a bit slow.

Re: Composition

wow great work! how long did it take you? maybe you can make a video of your work process too, don't have to be long, just a few major steps...

Haha, you don't want to know. It was shot on a 60MP linhof camera, and just to make a full BG plate it was 6 images next to each other.... file size through the roof and then adding loads of people... and a new stage. Also the people on the side of the catwalk were shot in the wrong angle so I had to really put them in in groups of 2, all the while patching up the issues that came up. Then removed the big screen that was in the background, by rebuilding that stupid ceiling.

And that's all before the main girl came in....

I'm gonna say about 60 hours.
