Re: Merged shots from helicopter over Los Angeles. Hi Oscar I downloaded the full version and then clicked with the magnifying glass to get the full panorama with which I had to pan. Very impressive and enjoyed the view. Not sure what your plan is for the final product so only gave my opinion on my enjoyment of your work. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Merged shots from helicopter over Los Angeles. Oscar, you didn't mention which method you used (whatever it is it looks great!). Here's a quickie pano I shot at Griffith Park in LA (non-DSLR) and used Calico to put together (no manual involvement needed). Prior to that I tried it in PS but it was horribly distorted at my usual settings.

Re: Merged shots from helicopter over Los Angeles. Hey John and Plugsnpixels, thanks for replying. The final product is going to be a cylindrical pano although I will be printing this as it is since I kind of ended up liking it. It's not accurate and warped, but it makes a little more sense when viewed in the flash viewer. The biggest problem at this point is having both ends meet into a seamless cylinder. As far as technique or method, to get the shots I used a wide lens and had the helicopter do a 360 while hovering in place. For the composition, I used just about every type of transforming, from stretching to puppet transforming. After that, cloning and healing. I tried using AutoPano but it basically gave me a few groups to manually stitch together. I'll post a link to the viewer when I figure it out.

Re: Merged shots from helicopter over Los Angeles. I like the image you posted. I have never tried to do more than stitch a couple of shots together so have next to no knowledge or real expertise in this area. However recently I was looking at panos and came across This Tutorial about Pano2VR and making a 360 cylindrical panorama. Hope it might be of some help. EDIT: Could the problem you are having be associated with not having image that overlaps at the left and right? Last edited by Tony W; 01-20-2012 at 07:24 AM.

Re: Merged shots from helicopter over Los Angeles. It "can" overlap, but its a pain since the horizon doesn't match up perfectly. I'm working on it now and will post an update by tonight hopefully.

Re: Merged shots from helicopter over Los Angeles. I like it and you have done a good job of blending in the horizon distortion from the w/a lens.
