Thanks for the feedback. With the flame texture, now I look at it, may be a bit over the top! I wanted to get across the impression that we captured the moment the explosions happened, so a little motion blur etc, but will reduce that, still have to have some metal debris flying out so that may make all the difference!
Re the rest of the scene, will block in my other ships and then see how it balances as I can probably set the other planes back in the haze so they don't intrude too much and probably knock a couple out, do the chase planes on the work ok? I like having a smaller focus that gets the scale of the ship across.
