Cinemagraphs

Anyone have any experience making a cinemagraph?
Wanted to try making one but wanted some input on the best way to aproach it.

AFAIK these are just animated gifs. Easily accomplished in PS using animation window or even dedicated gif editors. The downside is you are limited to a palette of 256 colours. Animated png can support 24 bit and possibly higher but I believe browser support is pretty limited at the moment so may not be a good choice

I've been obsessed with attempting to create "Cinemagraph" quality animated gifs. I had been spending hours of my free time on Photoshop trying to make them until finally a friend of mine who's a graphic designer in Chicago told me about a new (at least I think it is) website that lets me isolate a specific motion so easily it takes minutes instead of hours and is pretty affordable. I think they still have a free trial too. Check it out: Cinegif.com
