Re: Hello and a newbie questions

the way I started was I created projects for myself, copied some ads in magazines, and played a lot, and made a lot of mistakes. But learned from the mistakes, took notes, wrote stuff down. You have to get your hands dirty in the program, not just read and watch youtube videos. Don't be afraid to ask questions too.

Re: Hello and a newbie questions

just used the internet, took my own, asked photographer friends, there are a ton of free images that photographers post on ModelMayhem. If you want to do it you will find a way.

Re: Hello and a newbie questions

In my case my family had a large number of very old photos from about 1902 or 3 until after WW II. Also snapshots that were duplicates or not important that I could sprinkle with water, tear corners off and wrinkle up. Ask family members - you may be surprized what's available.
Fun to do, useful and provides before and after shots that are known to be usable.

Re: Hello and a newbie questions

Start with easy compositings and watch some tutorials with good compositings.
Practice every day 30 to 45 min and try to get better.
Try to understand light and get a feeling for color.
