Need help with weird marks

I do learn a lot from you all, it really helps. this is my work, could anybody tell me where I should improve? thanks

The only thing I notice, is the cats face is not quite exposed correctly to match with the rest of the picture, the contrast is a little too much.

This can easily be adjusted by selecting it, and using levels or curves to reduce the contrast.

Other than that, you have done a very good job of restoring and colouring.

Hi, realaqu -- I'm not qualified to give advice on restoring, but I know this picture well. The left arm is not colored. I know it's hard to see, but both arms are wrapped around the cat. Nice work, though. Regards, Taylor

Gary, thanks for the book recommendation. Would it be useful also for Paint Shop? I have wondered about switching to Photoshop since that seems to be what most people here use. Just such an investment. I will definitely look into the tutorials -- so far just having trouble translating them to PSP.

Hi Taylor, the book is really aimed at Photoshop users. I don't know PSP, so can't say wether all the techniques are transferable. I suspect that a great many of them may be, but could'nt say so with complete confidence. She does have a website at www.digitalretouch.org it would perhaps be worth having a look there before making a decision.

was not to bad just used the cloning tool and healing brush in adobe.
