| | | Does this make any sense?? I just noticed that if I view the forum when Im logged in as cedwar, I cant see attachments in the threads. But when Im on the site, but not logged in, I can see the icons with file names after them and can click on them to view. I may not be able to see the thumbnails, but at least I can see the icon to click on. I looked in my user preferences and cant find any setting that looks like its set wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

| | | If you look in the FAQ section, Doug has posted some reasons that people can't see the images, check there first. |

| | | Gary! Thanks!! After quite a bit of clicking around in my firewall (I have a firewall different from any of the ones with tips in the FAQ section), I finally figured out what settings to change and can see the thumbnails now.
Thanks again! Now Im going to get to work on trying everyone's suggestions!

| | | Thank you for your patience... Hi everyone... Ive been away for a while. The problem I had before with my computer got worse and I had to take it in to be worked on so I had limited access to the internet and no access to Photoshop. But now I have it back and Ive been trying all the suggestions I received and it certainly looks a lot better than the original. I cant seem to get any better as far as the blotchiness goes, especially in the face. Maybe its too much to expect, to get it better than this, but I thought Id post my copy of what I got out of your tips, and see if anyone thinks it can get any better than this. Thanks for your help and patience!

| | | cedwar,
you've done a great job on a difficult image. you've got a lot more detail back in the eyes. the left eye could use a little more work. use the right eye as a model for it. you've also got a lot of those white streaks/lines/noise. those could be cleaned up a bit, either cloned over or blended in or maybe a neat image treatment, though that may lose some of the detail again, so, maybe not.
all in all, i think you've got all the detail you're going to get back, so it's clean up time and reconstruct time. the eye and dress are the obvious reconstruct issues and then the streaky white on the clean up.
but a fine job so far.

| | | When you say clean up time... do you mean something other than the reconstruction? Im wondering if its possible to make the "blotchy"ness go away.

| | | cedwar,
when i say 'clean up' that's what i'm talking about, getting rid of the graininess and blotchiness. you can try Neat Image or simple tools like clone and smudge and push or even a soften tool if you have it. go very lightly; you dont want a lot of streaking. you just kind of want to smooth and blend things a bit.
and cassidy, i've no idea what you're talking about.

| | | Writing an L Channel curve only doesn't do such a bad job by itself. I basically brought the end points in towards the middle to steepen it quite a bit. No retouching though. |
