Photo Restoration - - Deliberately bleaching out

I need to make the clean looking image have the same hue and bleached look as the other image, although after playing with a curves layer for a long time, I cannot get the desired effect.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I guess you can use the photoshop custom filter to achieve this effect. but I didn't try it.

I've had a play but its a bit hit & miss, definitely going to carry on playing though.

Had a little play with free plug in from red paw media called bleach bypass simulation

then messed a little with colour adjustment
