ibookster - I'm not sure either of what you are seeking. The two pics you posted are very different.

Nevertheless - here's my interpretation of the term 'silver light' with your photo:

The images here are from a photographers site and are just for reference. Not my work.

Thanks shelby for the link to the actions. I used urban acid and then of course my own tweaking and I'm wondering if I'm even close. Seems like the more I look at it, the less I think I got it near what this discussion is about. LOL.

oh well

at least we are all trying out new techniques, that's the main thing!

I should be getting some Urban music type shots to work on soon and I want to use this technique on them.

Im feeling fairly ok about the smoothing and shading effect - BUT - what im trying to figure out is how to get that brownish pallette. Tried "match color" with another picture that had a Dior silver pallette - but it didnt produce what I thought it would. How to get that brown tone to be repeatedly applied - thats what id like to get down to a formula.

Seems like there was an article in this months Photoshop User Magazine on how to get that urban high contrast/brown look. Anyone else seen it?

The part about putting a large feathering value on the oval marquee step - I couldnt figure what that would accomplish - although it seemed integral to the effect.
