Hi ya all....

I've just joined this site and thought i'd have a quick go at the photo that Nebgranny posted.

I've just had a quick go at getting the features on the face to look natural and in keeping with the condition of the rest of the image.

Is there a larger or less grainy image?

I hope this is sorta what u wanted.

Great job! This is a tough one.

One suggestion that you might also try. Copy and paste the good eye into the bad eye. This should help with the eyes.

I would try, but I am at work and can't....

ok, i touched this up a bit more. borrowed the idea of widening her left (our right) cheek/jaw. that helped. did more work on the shadows and added some needed noise. lots of smudging/pushing and a bit more clone here and there.

Thank you for your kind words and suggestion, Byron! I'll try to improve the quality of eyes and chin also. Looks too heavy and unnatural.

OnAir,

you're welcome. and, thank you

it still needs some work. it needs more definition, especially around the eyes. i'll probably work on it some more.

i notice that you're from moscow. very nice english! just one thing, we say 'very' instead of 'wery', but i understood what you meant. and i really hesitate to say anything, but i know sometimes people want to be corrected when they're learning a second language. if this is not the case, just say so and i wont do it again

where did you learn to do retouching and restoration?

Craig

Thanks, Craig! Certainly, I'm not against of correcting of my language, as well of my work. Both are the reasons of my interests in RetouchPro, if i had more critics, i would become more practice in my profession and worth my language practice, so I'm very thankful for any comment of it. I've learned basics of color correction something about 10 years ago, but more retouch practice i've got, when I've worked for Russian edition of Playboy magazine. Since then, I work for glamour magazines as on cite retoucher. To say the truth, this work is my first experience in restoration.

Hi Neb.

OnAir, If that’s your first restoration then I look forward to seeing more of your work Great job

I also went back to Neb’s original thread for the starting picture because it was sharper
I used Drew Barrymore’s Nose and ear and part of her lips to get the proportions and fill in the missing bits. I used part of OnAir’s picture to speed up the restoration

Coloured, Sharpened and added some Highlights.

We all seem to be coming up with a similar looking face Neb. Are we getting close?

OnAir,

ah, i didnt even know there was a russian edition of playboy. how fascinating! and that you worked there, that must have been great experience. and now an on site retoucher. well, you did a very nice job on this image, so all that training seems to have paid off.

Craig

Well, my next try in english writing Improved eyes, chin, added hair and ear. Byron, I tryed to copy good eye into a bad one, that's working, but the original has an assimmetry in eyes, so I kept an old one, just open it little bit.
