Desaturated and then paint colour back in I wanted to discuss this method further. It was brought up in a previous thread but it was in the Classifieds section and covered Heyrad's dodge and burn and so on... I have attached images I found on a photographers site just for reference. I love this method and I am actually after some images of this genre to play with - any photographers out there?

My article on B&W conversion in the current issue of PBase Magazine includes a long discussion and demonstration of how to allow color to "peek through" from underneath a B&W conversion. http://k41.pbase.com/pbase_magazine_vol3_oct2005.pdf Cheers, Mitch

Shelby, Nice Examples... I think we or someone needs to post a Good "Before" picture. That seems to be a lot of the problems here in the forums. We need a good picture to start from nothing. Granted that technique does not work on just every type of picture. Especially beauty and model type pictures, They seem to work better on Rappers/Old people (dragan) or odd looking Characters! It is hard to acheive this look with "Pretty" people. Also It seems to work much better with the rappers I think do to the Dark skintones? Not sure. Anybody have a wanna be rapper buddy they they can take a snap of!! Snook
