Question old texture on the photo

Hi,
I'm am new here.. I am a photographer, but I haven't been using photoshop much lately, only for simple retouching.
I have to retouch a few really old photographs, which I can fix the color balance on them by myself but what is really bothering is the texture that is on this old photo (its from the 70'..). I dont know if it's possible to correct it - it's like tiny holes stamped on the photo.
i'm attaching a small portion from the photo just so you can see and help me maybe..?
thanks

I have many photos with this same textured paper. I find the FFT Map in Image Analyzer (free version available) to be very effective in removing or significantly attenuating the texture. I ran the FFT and did a single curve adjust to reduce the slight cast and pull up the shadows a tad.

Butch, I don't us the plugin but the free version I have is stand alone. So I apply IA to the photo and then bring the result into Photoshop as a new layer and blend it in Luminosity Blend Mode.

Thanks for the heads up Murray

Just to be sure we are talking about the same program is it possible to post a link to the stand-alone product?

Butch
