Advice needed

Hello,
First off I would like to say I have no way of expressing my gratification for the assistance I have received on this website. It has become one site that I visit on a daily basis. I am working on this image, and have been for quite some time. I am having a horrible time deciding on what to do with the borders. I have tried everything I can find on how to repair this. Clone stamp just isn't cutting it. So I have reverted os the floor is in it's original state.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you again!

Re: Advice needed

I did a little bit on this. On the picture edges at the top and bottom I used the clone tool and then to add the texture I went back over the area with the healing bush and sometimes used the patch tool on areas. It is personal with me, but I do not like pictures that look really retouched. Using the de grunge tutorial, I smoothed out the texture even more, but not sure I like it that smooth. One thing that is very helpful is the Wacom Tablet. Using the classic pen and airbrush, you can get into very small areas quickly and easily.

Re: Advice needed

i did some on this picture also. you gave me good advice on the picture with the child in it, thought i would return the favor. I cloned the boys show in the middle and then copied and pasted it for most of the other shoes. used patch tool and some cloning, added a 1 radius median filter to it after repair. hope this is what you were looking for.

Re: Advice needed

chris,

not quite sure i understand this sentence:
Quote:
So I have reverted os the floor is in it's original state.
'reverted os the floor'??

also not quite sure i understand the problem. seems you've been doing pretty well on the rest; so, why is the floor more difficult here? and do you mean all borders or just the bottom?
