Need help with photo (blue spotch)

Ok well i got this photo, and theres a big blue spot covering most of it, i went into ps:cs2 and the problem is only in the blue channel, but i dont know that much about ps:cs2 yet so im not sure how to fix the problem. I tried creating a new channel to replace the blue one, but then the picture looks all messed up, can someone help me here.

yup, nice blue cast/spot. i generally work in rgb, all channel mode, so i handled this all from there. i ran a color balance adjustment layer first. this removed a good deal of the blue, but not all. on what was left i made a blank layer and set it to color mode. i then picked the appropriate color and used the airbrush to lightly paint the areas still not quite right. on each new color i picked to spray, i picked a new blank layer set to color mode.

i also cleaned up a few specs in his pants and on the walls with either smudge or airbrush.

i re-balanced this one more time and then noticed the edges on the walls had a yellow cast. i made one more blank layer set to color and picked an appropriate blue and lightly sprayed those areas also.

A simple one minute fix: go to levels and the blue channel. drag the black point slider until the blue is gone. press ok. go to levels again and set the white and black point. not perfect but a good start.

I used the levels on the blue channel also which made it apparent that the blue was not the only staining, it appeared there was some yellow staining also. I created a new copy of the blue adjusted version and then using selective colour with a mask, removed the yellow staining. As there still appeared to be a disparity in the colouring of the couch, I sampled the colour from the lighter left hand side of the couch and then coloured over the right hand side of the couch to make it look tonally the same.

Well, first I decomposed and reduced the blue channel before recomposing the image (a GIMP thing). I then did some selective colorizing to get rid of some other blotchy stuff. NI the whole thing and some other cleanup work. could always do better, but it is 5:45 am. lol

Hi there

I believe there were at least three stains or castes... a cyan, yellow and rust. I thought the couch may have had a brown or yellow color but i noticed the yellow was in the pillow as well so I think it is a caste or stain

I used hue/saturation adjustment layers and like Craig a layer set to color mode.

Used the curve set grey point. Used a fold in the mans shirt as a neutral grey.
Top of the bottle as white.

Use Apply Image in CS2

1. In the channels palette highlight the blue channel
2. Image>Apply Image
3. Source: 42.jpeg
Layer: background copy
Channel: Green
Blending: Normal
Opacity: 100%
4. Click OK

I worked with channels… replaced bad parts with the good patches from different channels & used brightness/contrast to blended them in.

*Copied Green Channel "Ctrl +C"
* Made Blue channel active did a "select all" "Ctrl+A"
* Pasted the green channel into the selection"blue channel"
"Ctrl+L+E
*Image >Combine Channel

Took less than a minute.
