HELP: Scan of Photo Copy

This is a gift I'm doing for a friend of my mother's whose husband died of ALS. This is one of the rare photos she has of her husband on their wedding day. Unfortunately all she has is a bad color photocopy which she scanned.

I've been trying to reduce the cross-hatching and keep detail. Should I call it quits or is there something more I could/should do to improve the photo prior to having it printed?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Re: HELP: Scan of Photo Copy

I think you did a nice job on the gentleman. The only things I would do next would be to clean up the background or replace it and lighten the shadows around his head / face.
Regards, Murray

Re: HELP: Scan of Photo Copy

ALS what a horrible-horrible illness..my heart goes out to her.
I think you've done a good job..don't think the cross hatching is that big of an issue (like noise it gives it depth) anyway I think if you hue/sat some color into her husband and change the background a little..
maybe not as far as I went but..
