How to post a picture

Hi, I'm new here and I want to play too. I started with an image from one of the last posts the one of the guys father in uniform. Anyway I worked on it and now I'd like to post it but it started at 80k or so and now it's 500k. Can someone please tell me how to post without degrading the image I just fixed?
Thanx for your help.

Flora's posts include links to these explanations -- if you have any questions after reading, just let us know. The image size limit bothers you more at first, but you get used to it after a while, and bandwidth doesn't come free.

Thanx CJ, resize for web, duh, but I never would have thought of that.
By the way, I looked before I asked and couldn't find the answer, maybe that would be a good sticky or whatever you call it that stays up front on top on the main forum page, if you know what I think I mean.

Flora "sticks" it on her signature, and I always look for it there -- it's a common question, and I agree that it should be somewhere every new person could find it. Us senior folks know to "go find a post by Flora", but newbies won't know that!

Newbie Re: How to post a picture

Silly me, now that I know what I was looking for it's right there it's already a sticky. Oh well, I'll learn.
