I think it could be better

I think it looks pretty good, but I was hoping to get some more detail to show in the clothing. Anyone have any ideas?

This was about the only detail I could find. A scan of the original negative would have more detail than the scan of the print. However, I would guess the negative is no longer available. The quality of the scan is the first step in getting detail with which to work.

i'm afraid dc has it right. a lot of that dress is too badly under-exposed or faded out or eroded. about the only hope for getting more detail would be to get a better scan or physically see if the image could be cleaned up more, preferably by a conservator.

you could try to recreate the dress based on the detail that is available, but be prepared for some work if you do.

BTW, I'm having trouble uploading too. Has there been a change? I've changed to CS2 but it still works the same. My pictures are 100K, or so it says....... but the upload tool here isn't working.
