My final efforts on this. At least improved over the original.

A big thanks to all of you. You achieve awesome conclusions. I'm very happy about your help and so lucky because the picture is now good enough for me.

Best regards from Germany

Far from perfect, the hair would need a lot more work, but its a start.

Re: Need help with a crumpled picture

I reconstructed the background. Used levels, healing brush, clone tool, and painted various areas.

Re: Need help with a crumpled picture

ok, this took a while. almost all clone and airbrush. just a little clarify and brightness/contrast.

you can get this result in minutes using the spothealbrush type proximity match, i know it's far away goal, but good start i think

great result Craig!

Re: Need help with a crumpled picture

Very nice Craig. I like the contrast you used.

Just a little dimension loss in the neck area.

Re: Need help with a crumpled picture

Everyone did a nice job on this photo. I took a different approach. I did the restoration trying to keep the original paper texture on the photo. i did remove it but didnt like the results i got so i added back in the texture of the paper to the photo and it seemed to me to make it look better. But thats just me.

thanks, saby, chillin. yes, i see it now, chillin.

interesting choice, unimatrix. sort of looks like old magazine print, that old duotone print look.
