Need help retouching an old print for grandma's birthday

Hey all,

So, Im in a bit of a pickle. My grandma's birthday is coming up in about 10 days and I told her that I would restore an old print of her and my granda back when they were younger.

I did some work on the pic at one point but I was so stumped that I let it sit for like 6 months. Now, that day is coming and I have nothing. I feel like a kid who has a big test to take and I know that I didnt study...

Eitherway any help with this one would be greatly appreciated. Im gonna work on it this week and post my results.

There is a little mold, some color distortion, and lots of little cracks.

For openers...
* Duplicate your layer
* Start using the Healing Brush on the cracks. This tool works like the Clone tool (alt + click in a "good area" to sample it), then paint over cracks, blotches. Be patient, go slow, don't rush.
* For the chunk out of his suit, I'd use the lasso tool to select a good piece close by, ctrl + J to put the selection on a new layer, choose Move tool, use arrow keys to position the piece, add Hide All layer mask and airbrush white on mask to reveal the fix.

Since the clock is ticking, you might consider converting it to black and white, eliminating the messy color correction.

Hope this gets you started...

Do you need all the information that is on the picture? You can save a lot of time just focusing to the part of image that is important.
