Re: b/w to color

Welcome to RetouchPro casaalmare, nice colouring.

Clothing looks a little flat, could do with a little tonal variation between highlights and shadows, most noticeable on the shirt and tie.

Re: b/w to color

Nice work, but I would use the FFT plug in or ImageJ before applying colors.

Re: b/w to color

nice job on coloring!

a couple suggestions... a little contrast would do wonders here. and, a little usm (i used 2/100/5) would do this better also.

and, you've got a paper/scan texture going on there too. the fft or rgb fft filter would be a good idea as well. i did the contrast and sharpening, but didnt do the fft on my rendition using your posted image. this shows the paper/scan texture.

Re: b/w to color

Nice colouring.

As already suggested, before doing anything else, I would definitely remove the photographic paper texture with the FFT Filter. (tutorial and link for downloading the Filter here).

FFT only.. (Attachment 1)

Added tone, contrast and sharpened (Attachment 2)

Nice job Craig!!
