Hi Candice

I really like what you have done with my mothers photo
At first I was not used to seeing my mother with really black hair but I still like it .

This one with her hair brown is great At first I was not sure about the Gray background but its my mother I needed to focus on and I think you have done wonders with her

Well you did fine. I thought though that there may be too much yellow in your restoration so in photoshop I used Image/Adjustments/Variations and added more blue to the photo. Also her front tooth has a dark spot in it still that you may want to fix.

Hi Coraki,

I was going to go a little wilder, but I restrained myself

Hi Phill,
thanks for your advice I appreciate very much. I agree on your adjustments who well improve my restoration. Maybe the yellow sunlight of Sardinia, where I live, influences my colur vision !

Re: Need help on restoring My mothers photo

I wanted to give this a try too. I used my aunt's hair from an old late 20's, early '30's photo. Not sure how any of the colors will appear due to my monitor/video card acting up (if Santa reads these threads, make a note 'new monitor and video card for Susie').

Oh, and I didn't give teeth to her, I believe that those 'lines' were natural creases of her lips which kind of gives her that "Mona Lisa attitude". At least, that's MHO. And I created a gingham pattern set as an overlay because I saw the pattern in her top; I really should have done some warping to that layer but didn't have time and didn't mask-out the chair either.
