Can anyone remove this stain and outline the steps they used so I may get some idea how to remove it. Thank you for your time.

Re: Need help removing peachy orange stain.

Downloaded your picture and saved it as A TIFF file and using Photoshop CS3opened it in camera raw where they actually have an orange slider. Took out the color (I am sure the same thing could be done using Hue/Sat.) From there I used the patch tool, healing brush set to normal and replace depending on what I was doing. A little clone work and some smudging to smooth things out. I am not a professional retoucher so I would imagine some of the others will be able to give you an easier way to do it.

Re: Need help removing peachy orange stain.

Hi PM,

I used a levels adjustment layer to check all was well there. Checked the individual channels and decided to use 'apply image'. Set the channel to 'red', the mode to 'lighten' and the % to 100.

This still leaves some work to do, as it makes the pink/peachy colour white, but it seemed easier to work with.

Added my take on it, and have left the white showing around the hair, hands etc., simply clone/heal them out and viola. No smoothing or sharpening applied to my image, but you would probably do both once you had fixed the image completely. You could also use a curves adjustment layer if you wanted.

Re: Need help removing peachy orange stain.

Hi Prairiemaiden,

I took the hair from the left side, made the selection a layer, flipped it and used that on the right side.
If you go into the black and white dialouge you can play with the red and yellow (on a seperate layer) and get rid of all of the color in the shirt and a lot of it in the grass by the lady. Now mask out the effect on the face and then go into the dialouge again and adjust for the face.
The rest was just a little clone stamping and healing. With a higher res image we could do better with the face.
