Moisture in frame caused blue tinge in photo

Hi guys, just came across this website in order for me to fix a few photos that I’ve got. Been reading some of the tutorials and I’m just amazed on the results that you guys are getting with the original photographs that were given!! Simply amazing!

How did you guys get sooooo good at restoring really damaged photographs? I would love to know

Now to my problem. I’ve got a photo that has had some moisture creep into the picture frame. Hence the blue tinge that you see in the photo. I had to scan it with the glass still attached to the photo since it is stuck to it

I had a go at it a year back to see if I could fix it, but then real life kicked in and I had to do other things. And as you can see it wasn’t perfect. Now I got some free time to fix a bunch of photos and started to work on this one again. Now I’m not a photoshop guru by any means, and so I wanted to start from scratch again. To my utter amazement, I don’t have a clue on how I was able to remove most of the blue from the face. And as you can see, there is still some blue on the jacket.

I’ve attached the original and my feeble attempt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And if you can, show the steps that you took in order to achieve the fix. If it can be fixed that it

Re: Moisture in frame caused blue tinge in photo

From what I see, what you have done so far looks really good. Just continue from where you left off. It does have a bit of a blue cast, which is easily removed by adding a levels adjustment layer, and moving the left slider over to the right some in the blue channel. I moved it to a value of 45 for this one. Some additional minor touch up, and you've got it.
