Thumbs up Newbie here!

Hi there! Few weeks ago I found this site and find it very good what you do here. I have lot of time from work since I just work every second week. I have practice a lot and getting better. I have seen these challenges. For my taste these old b/w photos loose a little bit charm and story when people try to color them. Some work are very good. But for my taste b/w should stay that way. I post a sample of my work when I am ready. I think I have a very good hobby with this. Hope it lead to something more. Keep up the good work here.

Re: Newbie here!

B/W is usually only colored at a client request. Most of the others is play. Like you, I love the old black and whites. Sepia is usually a process of age. I return those to vanilla or off white.

Everyone has their niche' with restoration. My skill has been honed through Operation Photo Rescue. I love not only the old B/W but those that you really have to work on through damage. http://www.operationphotorescue.org/ Drop in and view the galleries.

Hugs,
C

Re: Newbie here!

If you ever want to join us at OPR you're welcome. There are three levels of restoration and you can start where you feel comfortable.

We'd love to see you there. And welcome to RetouchPro too.

yes I thought about it. It is a very good idea. You never learn to swim if you dont jump in to the pool. I try and see if I can help.
