Re: Restoration Plug-ins

With dust & scratches it matters little. And truth be told rather than using a filter I favor the Healing Brush and Clone Stamp on a new blank layer with sample all layers checked. So, Andrea, yes Photoshop has a better option. It requires human work, but so does succesfully using a dust & scratches filter. And with the Clone Stamp and Healing Brush I can choose the sample point and control the texture.

Lynn, that's cool, and they still host the files-! Unusual after 7 years. Probably floating somewhere deep in the cobwebs of their server ;-).

No, but thank you for the heads-up! Has a content-aware sort of capability ;-). Website is here. Slightly dated software (summer 2009), but not too badly.

Re: Restoration Plug-ins

I just downloaded it to try it out...you just can't save what you did until you buy. A little like the healing brush..might be worth $24, but for an important pic I'm not sure if it is detailed enough..need to play with it some more.

I did download the Polaroid plug in but my CS4 freezes each time I try to launch it...should I reinstall? Any issue with CS4? Maybe I downloaded the Apple version when I use windows?

Re: Restoration Plug-ins

Skydog, there's an option to run the Polaroid plug-in as a standalone (at least with the Mac version). Try that if possible.

As Photoshop goes through each new release, developers need to keep updating their plug-ins to stay compatible, but this one is an oldie ("deadware") and as a result can't be expected to keep working as a plug-in.
