Re: Gran - Old Photo Restore

I had a try, lovely photo, lots of cloning, patching and some smoothing, to get rid of the noise. Sorry I could only post the smaller file.

regards

you've done a good job nontheless, one thing you haven't loose her face, she still look natural, it's a tough photo to work with.

cheers

Thanks Helen. I'm still learning and trying to overcome that overly smooth look.

Hi

I did some restoration work on your photo. I do this as an hobby. I did the work in Corel Paint Shop Pro X, with Focal Blade Plugin. Hope you like it.

Re: Gran - Old Photo Restore

Since everyone seems to be having a go, here's mine.
Mostly patch tool, B&W coversion and then back to paper tone, contrast adjustments and artificial film grain. I feel that in the case of old photos, adding grain is better than trying to smooth all the noise away. The grain in the final image is actually not as strong, but the reduction to a postable size had made the grain more pronounced.

I have a 3000 x 2126 version. Let me know if you want a copy.
