Re: Imprint on photo

Hi, Missymoo, if i get it right, you fix your scan dimenssions to an tutorial you pick up from this site. Well, i would do it like this. Make a pre scan, then select the scan area (by dragging the dotted line)ie. the photo leaving out everything but the photo it self, yes the "white"border too. Make every needed adjustment (curves, levels, etc.)there is and make the scan using 300 dpi resolution. And there is one more thing, read the scanner manual and follow it. Try this too, http://www.scantips.com/ You'l be fine.

Peter

Don't worry MissyMoo .... 'those days' are a constant feature of my life... ...

After having cropped away the scanning of the scanner bed, so that the saved image will be your picture only (Attachment 1) try the following:
  • Open your Resize dialog box (probably different from mine (Attachment 2), but with similar options)...and
  • either go for the option where you can Lock the Proportions... and by increasing the width to your size of choice, you will see that height will be increased too in order to keep the right proportions for the 'whole picture'
  • or use the Scale/Percentage Resizing (meaning increase to 120, 130 or 150%) ...
Any of these 2 solutions should do the trick...

P.S. The dimensions shown in the Tutorial are those of the picture I scanned, which are obviously very different than the dimensions of your picture ... that's why they don't work for you....

Please, let me know if you managed!
