This is mouthwateringly delicious. I can't wait to find out what it says on the bag he's holding. A nice challenge even for the best restorers.

hi kate,

dont worry about your 'funny bunny'. if she was happy, then you did fine

but, if it really bugs you, you can always do something privately and then present it to her. up to you

as for glasses, i believe she may be right. they are very faint, but i believe i can see the outline of one rim in her left eye (our right). i'm posting just my initial work of getting a better image to work with for now. take a close look and you shld see it. if you cant, i'll post another with it traced, or what i can see of the glasses.

Yes, skydog, I agree. I am presently doing a job involving an estate and I have 30 photographs to restore and print. I get so blurry eyed and careless, that I scan 10 photographs at a time and work on them all at once. that why I gain a different perception by changing back and forth.

Craig, I guess if I use my imagination I can add glasses to her face, but they would be so faint that doesn't make any sense to me. But again, maybe that is why her under eyes appear a greenish tint. Its my belief that anyone who could afford to have their photograph taken while appearing to be wearing fur had enough money to not be so exhausted baggy eyed looking...

Now, what I did see and couldn't make happen, that's why I went without it, is a hat. One of those tight skull fitting ones back in the 20s. I tried to implement it but just couldn't seem to get it right. Can you find that?

certainly looks like a hat, doesnt it?

i've outlined a few things here, or at least, i think they're things. the black is the hat, the red is the hair, the green is the necklace and blue is the glasses. that's how i see it, anyways. all are suspect, however.

i also did a little touch up on some of this. is she wearing a fur stole or something there? the part on the left of the photo seems to indicate something like that, yet on the right it didnt seem like it. these are always tricky.

It looked to me like she has a jacket with fur collar. I saw the hat as being to the other side. and I did see the semi necklace pearl it would seem. ah, its so difficult innit? hehe.
I so wish someone would send me something simple...lol

Oh I completely like your hat better too!

I just colored in what I saw, never said I like what I saw....lol
If you darken it more than needed it brings out the shape of the hat better.
I had done a search when doing that piece, but couldn't find what I wanted, I just again did a search and just to show you what I see Ive attached a couple pics.

yes, darkening can help sometimes, as can contrasting. two of my favorite restoration tools in psp are the 'clarify' filter and the 'fade correction' filter. both of these can help you find detail in an image.

ah, ok. i get what you were going for in the hat. what i saw was a lot flatter, almost a skull cap but with a slight bill and it only covered a small portion of her head. it would probably have been kept in place with a hat pin or something similar.

so, is this where you see the fur, somewhat along where i've outlined?

This is kind of the way I see her. I do think I got her hair too long.
As usual, mine could be too light or too dark.
