Unhappy Help, too upset to fix

Can someone please restore this for me?

My husband passed away 12/23/08 and I would love to have this picture for the service on Monday.
It is when from when we started dating. I tried to do it myself but the tears keep getting in the way. It has a few speckles, needs color adjustment, and maybe a little sharpening. I wanted to try the shadows/light thing in my Photoshop but cannot tell when I have things right today.

Thank you to anyone who has time to help me with this one.

Re: Help, to upset to fix

Fedje,
In the spirit of the holidays and in honor of your husband, here is one to consider.

Granted, I did not have lots of time today. But, see what you think. If it's acceptable, right click my name and send me an email with your email address. I will forward a larger version. Tell me where you will be printing it and I can soft proof and convert for that stores' printer to be sure it looks right.

I was able to upsample the image, which worked well. So, the one I can send you will be adequate for printing.

I chose to leave the border since it was dated. You can crop as desired.

Happy Holidays !

Yes, he was a hunk! We had a great 37 years together, but the house feels so empty.

Thanks everyone, they all are much better than I could do right now.

Hope you have enough of the good times in memory to carry you through the rough times.

Re: Help, to upset to fix

My mom died the same day this year...no matter how you change the picture it will still be perfect! I love the older pictures-they show the real character of a person. Just feel what you feel for now, and everything else will fall into place. You must love him very much!

Re: Help, too upset to fix

Well, other than his leg which I didn't have time to fix, this is my contribution. On second thought, Add some greens and lessen the yellows with a bit of vibrance might help the image too. Hope that helps.
