Cursed Cursive Hello, I'm working through a picture album from my great grandmother. She was nice enough to use adhesive picture mounts and at the start she wrote in pencil on the back of the pictures (love you great gramma). Towards the end of the album though she stared writing on the black pages with indigo ink! Beleive it or not on the attached there is writing above the picture. I know on CSI they would just hit a few keystrokes and the writing would magically appear but I'm looking for real-world advice ;-) A high-bit scan of the writing is Here. After changing from 16-bit grayscale to 48-bit color and adjusting the histogram the writing popped off the page and I could decipher: "M.B.K.G. & Mollie coming home from Sunday School. Cobalt - about 1913" which is golden for me as MBKG are the initials for my grandfateher, Mollie is his sister and they all lived in Cobalt Ontario for a period while my great grandfather was managing a mine up there. So sometimes it is as easy as on CSI! Regards, Bruce

Re: Cursed Cursive Bruce, fine job, very impressive.. You have some nice treasures there! If you have a lot of these to do and you are working in Windows you might consider the "Color Deconvolution Plug-in" <click It takes some getting used to but sometimes does excellent CSI type stuff For a small donation it might help! About three clicks on your TIFF

Re: Cursed Cursive I agree with OlBaldy on this. I did this with that same tool in just a couple of minutes.
