Great Uncle George

Hi all, I have a photo of Great Uncle George and it's really messy...
I had a go with it, and the result is ok-ish, but was wondering if anybody else had any ideas. I use PaintShopPro XI by the way. Thanks in advance,

John

Re: Great Uncle George

My best educated guess is it was taken about 1880 or so when he was a "Railway Examiner". I've also got one of Amanda his wife but I thought it'd be cheeky to post both of them at the same time! lol!

Re: Great Uncle George

Not complete yet still needs alot of work. Cant remember exactly how i got to this but i did some work in lab mode inverting the a and b channels and using calculations with the lightness and a channel and the lightness and b channels to create two new alpha channels. switched back to rgb mode and copied alpha 1 channel and pasted to new layer did the same with the alpha 2 channel then set blending modes to taste. used patch tool to remove most of the mildew came up with this so far.
