Re: 1960 wedding picture Can you post a larger image ? Unfortunately, the thumbnail is extremely small. Hence any editing would not be useful. The link in your first post is not valid.

Re: 1960 wedding picture randyjr, Welcome to RetouchPRO Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends. Is it possible to re-scan in color with all auto settings turned OFF.. at 600dpi resolution if possible with your scanner.. Also, use the "Save for Web" option.. make sure optimized is checked and click the little arrow just above the word "Optimized" and when the menu opens click on "optimize to file size".. another box will open where you should enter 99 in the box click "OK".. make sure that the file is now under 100K (if not then cancel .. return to edit mode and reduce the size a small amount and try again till the file gets under 100K) click "Save" and give your file an unique name then post this larger file here.. if you want to post the larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link, but also please attach an under 100K version here (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links). For further Info on how to size and attach images to your posts Click HERE After you post your less than 100K version here, you could also post a larger version at ImageVenue.com (3Meg max, free) or pixentral.com (2Meg max, free) or photobucket.com (1 Meg max free,... 5 Meg PRO)-- then post a link here in this thread to the site that is hosting your larger version. This Tutorial by Katrin Eismann might help a lot! (click Here) Last edited by 0lBaldy; 03-04-2009 at 02:40 PM. Reason: added link

Re: 1960 wedding picture This is fast and kind of messy job. I made selections, color and levels corrections on each area. Some noise removal and high pass sharpen. I over did it on the noise, too smooth now and I didn't clean up his uniform but it can be done. Nan

Re: 1960 wedding picture Nice clean up OlBaldy. Can I ask what you did exactly to the dress? It looks really good. Those shadows all blend nicely and it looks so clean. Nan

Re: 1960 wedding picture I cheated... copied the working layer.. did a Hue/Saturation adjustment and just moved the lighten slider to the right a small amount.. hide all mask... unmasked the dress.. then made an all white, Soft Light layer.. used the same mask as before.. lowered opacity a bit

Re: 1960 wedding picture Randyjr, There are a few color casts in the photo and degradation of the photo due to the acid in the photo paper. I have some pretty handy tools here in CS4. Could you e-mail your photo at dpringle@jhc.com or kahn2019@hotmail.com Remember, try to scan your images around 300 DPI in order to accomplish a decent size that could be enlarged with genuine fractals etc. -Devin
