Re: Schoolgirl restoration (MooNy)

I thought you did a terrific job...both images. The little girl, the shoulder doesn't bother me a bit. Mom with Child, something's almost too clear in the new redo. Maybe a slight simplifier? IMO.
Nice projects.

The background shadows are too black and between her hands, something turned out from pinkish peach to blue. What i like is the way you repaired the uniform's dots, but too much contrast and some blur on the table...
I've dealt with tones of colour enhancements and retouches last summer when i worked, and trust, i did learn something from the 48000 images i retouched. Don't over contrast, don't oversaturate.
Thanks for the advise, but it's a matter of perspective and this was on the fly, which means, that I didn't give it as many hours as you did. I think we both did well.

I know what you mean I've had that myself a photo can look like it need much more work done but you get the client think it's the best finished and want no further work, it can be frustrated sometimes, but the customers are always right.

Excellent job, MooNy!

Philbach, I appreciate that you wanted to mitigate the yellow, but as a result there's now too much magenta in your version, imo.

Klassy, your attachment won't open for me (the others do).

I agree with Veralisa that the shoulder isn't a problem at all (to me), and that the whole image may be a bit too clear/sharp. I would blur it a tad.

I think that the restoration of the bangs is too visible. They are all out of alignment and bizarrely blurred.

Re: Schoolgirl restoration (MooNy)

+1 on the bangs. Not sure on the bow on the left side of her head (your left not hers), her head does have a slight tilt to it, with the bow being brough out fully it looks a bit odd to me.

All in all, fantastic job, with exception of the bangs the final looks like an untouched and well preserved photograph. you defaintly kept the older look to it which a lot of people appreciate.

two thumbs up!
