Question What would you do next?

Hello all,
I've been working on a photo restoration and I'm kind of stuck as to what I should work on next. I'm including a before pic and what I've come up with so far. Any comments would be appreciated and thanks!

Re: What would you do next?

Welcome!
What I did was to take your after photo as you had done such a nice job to begin with.
I ran it through neat image.
photo effect film and filters giving a warmth
took out a line across the mans nose.
I also smoothed out the ladies arm as it was a bit mottled.

Hi Kate! Love what you did with the color. I agree with the arm thing. Now I've got to analyze what you did and reproduce it. The original was a bit large so I sized it down for you guys to look at. Thanks for the assist!

Re: What would you do next?

Thanks. I worked from your fixed version. If you upload that to photobucket I can grab the larger sized photo and do it on that for you if you want me to.
I am so bad at explaining how I go about things as I hunt and peck until I like what I see. and don't seem to remember how I got there...lol
If you dont have photobucket its free, thats what I use.

Re: What would you do next?

Frokey,
I also think you're doing fine so far.

You hav probably gone as far as you can with global color correction. So, in addition to Kate's advise, you may want to use the following to isolate and improve the colors.
- isolate each important area by creating and saving a selection. For example, using quickmask, you would make a selection of the skin. Save it. Then make a selection of the clothes, save; same for hair, then wall.
- then reload a selection, add an adjustment layer for color (depending on your preference and what you want to achieve), i.e. hue sat adj. layer. Tweak that area to your liking. Add another adj. layer if needed.
- load another selection and continue in a similar fashion.

Here is an example by Flora on a similar photo.... here.

Best of luck with it.

Re: What would you do next?

Thanks for all of the great advice guys! I'd take you up on your offer Kate, but the guy is supposed to be picking up the photos shortly. This is what I ended up with.

Re: What would you do next?

Sorry I didn't receive an email of your update. I did my best on this one. Didn't come out the same as the smaller version.
LARGER PIC

I was in a hurry as you had stated the guy would be picking them up shortly and I didnt know when you posted the new pic. I can still fix what needs be, I just wanted to give it a quick go to let you know I was here.
