Retouching photo / need help For my very first post i'm coming to you with an issue I have of a photo i've tried to restore. Below are links to the original and what i've done so far. For much of the photo i've used the patch tool, healing brush, Cloning, and Nik Color efex "Tonal Contrast" to bring a little detail out. When I look at this I feel i'm still missing something that I could be doing. I did try to adjust Hue as well to get the color more accurate. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks Paul http://paulthompsonphotography.com/rpro/1.jpg http://paulthompsonphotography.com/rpro/2.jpg Last edited by Paul Thompson; 06-19-2009 at 09:23 PM.

Re: Retouching photo / need help Generally, on this type image where the color issues are not equally out of balance, you must work on different areas independently. Select an area, copy to a new layer, add adjustment layers as needed. Grab another area, do the same thing. It's really the only way to get it right. Regarding all the other hard work you have done, good job there. Once you have gotten your colors where you want them, you can go back and clean up a few smaller issues much easier.

Re: Retouching photo / need help I think you have done great! the only thing I see is the people look a bit greenish/yellow on my monitor.. levels on boy and man levels on background masked them to combine A few color adjustment layers hue/sat layer noise reduction some minor cleaning with patch tool and clone tool combined layers and changed opacity and modes to suit ~~ Original ~ ~ My try ~ ~

Re: Retouching photo / need help On the face of the man, you need to work more on the jaw and mouth, also the hand. Use the burn and dodge tool to fix it. Over all you did a nice job.

Re: Retouching photo / need help that looks good, cupcake. one thing, there is a texture in the grass and other parts of the bottom of the image. it's present in the original and present in yours. is that something that was actually part of the ground or is that a texture that was picked up through damage?
