Re: Red color bands in picture Wow, you read my mind. Being new I figured I'd better lurk and research a bit before posting my problem pic. Mine has the same problem as yours only mine has the red in the middle of the photo. Hopefully someone will help fix yours, and I'll try the same method to fix mine. Good Luck, Tim

Re: Red color bands in picture The red channel is pretty blown away in that strip but there is some detail in the green channel and lots of detail in the blue channel. I applied the blue channel to a copy of the background in Pin Light blend mode then sampled good color and painted over the areas on a new layer set to color blend mode. There are other ways to do this as well. Regards, Murray

Re: Red color bands in picture Although you lose some detail, you can remove the red band itself using a hue-saturation adjustment layer: -- Open a HS layer above your background -- Select Reds from the drop down box -- Use the left eyedropper and click on the red band -- Switch to the + eyedropper and click in multiple areas of the band to expand the color range -- Move the Saturation slider to the left until the red disappears -- Move the Lightness slider to the left until you get a tone level that matches the rest of the picture. You can then add back some color by sampling the rocks and vegetation and adding solid color adjustment layers using those sampled colors and masking the areas that you don't want colorized. Set the blend mode of these layers to color.
