Patch tool assist

Diggin the patch tool and all but I dont like how it has the smudging property of the heal, I would rather sometimes have a harder brush for the tool. I found no setting, so is the only work around clone?

Re: Patch tool assist

I use the patch tool all the time and have found if you patch to large of an area you will get a different texture to the area (i.e. smooths or smudges it out so i patch in smaller sections. If there is a white area you are trying to patch and can't select just part of it then cloning or healing brush will work better. I love the patch tool I do most of my work with it. It takes some practice to patch an area that is light next to a darker area without getting any bleed from dark to light or light to dark. took me quite awhile to figure this out but not in works great.
