The greatest professional satisfaction

Hello dear friends.
I want to share this with all of you and also dedicate to Retouch Pro community this moment who bring me the greatest satisfactions since I´ve been working as a restorer.
The past days I was writig to Dr. Russell Brown, one of the most prominence authority of Adobe Systems, to thank him for the wonderful free things he put in his web site http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html. Also, I attached a recent restoration and my site link. I was not expecting him to answer. We all know how busy are persons like him and the hundreds of emails they are receiving every day. My big surprise came this Friday 04.23 when I received Dr. Brown´s answer and for my biggest surprise... his congratulations for my work. This is the text:

"Florin,
Your work is fantastic and amazing.
You have created some miracles from some really damaged photos!
I appreciate your comments and if I need a tutorial on this topic then I definitely know who to contact.
Thank you so much for showing me your work.
Sincerely,
Russell Brown"

I have no words for this, means for me more than everything I could earn. The only comment is that I´m really so happy and I´ll try to stay always on the front line.

My best regards for all of you,
Florin

Re: The greatest professional satisfaction

Congrats, Florin. I believe that he will just do that! To my surprise I saw - while strolling for infos on CS5 - that he has "borrowed" a technique introduced by Calvin Hollywood and made a tut with some changes to the workflow. So,maybe we will be seeing your workflow on his site. One thing is for sure, he recognizes good work when he sees it :-) Be well

Re: The greatest professional satisfaction

Florin,
Very good news. That certainly is a complement to your work and dedication.

I realize that when you first started posting on RetouchPro, there were some people that thought your work was not as much restoration as it was artistic. However, we realize that with many restorations, they require a very artistic touch to bring back detail that has been lost. I would hope that everyone sees your work as an important part of the restoration community, and would hope that they also find a way to work in part of your workflow into theirs. Everyone involved in restoration will eventually find the need to replicate your work. I am not so artistic, but would certainly like to be.

Re: The greatest professional satisfaction

Hi, Tommy. I´m so pleased and grateful for your words. I always said the same you are posting here: a restoration must be something " hybrid", filters / plugins, enhancement with levels, curves, channels and also painting. A little bit of everything. Maybe I´m exaggerating with my painting routine but I love it. And, because I love it I have achieved enough skilness with it. There is no secret here, just thousands working hours and my desire to do things almost perfect. Almost, because the perfection is just a dream. I´m too a details hunter and I like to work the details. For this, the painting routine is essential.
Have a nice day / night??? (7.50 pm here) and thank you all again

Re: The greatest professional satisfaction

I'm a big fan of "The Florin Style".
It's readily recognizable on first sight.
