Re: light restoration and colourized You must have fixed the links because I can see both images. Well done retouch and colorization. I would remove the added shading to her jaw line. It changes the shape of her face.

Re: light restoration and colourized Very strange that Panpan can see the link to both images. Still getting Yahoo login in either Firefox or IE. Anyway modified the link as follows and can see the image http://www.flickr.com/photos/14721881@N05/4586309220 Edit: Thanks my modified link should be ignored Agree with Panpan - but you already spotted this. I have to say that up until fairly recently I have not been a great fan of colourised B&W images. But yours and other work shown on this site has made me rethink and see that very high quality work is achievable (i.e looking like an original colour image). Yes Tony High quality colourize work is and can be achieveable I didn't know how to colourize at all and couple of years down the line I am up to this standard there is always room for improvements what I want to achieve is as close as I can to a real colourized photograph so I am still practice as hard. please see below my latest. http://www.pbase.com/mstmart/image/124388475 cheers helen Last edited by sergio2263; 05-10-2010 at 01:22 AM.

Re: light restoration and colourized Your album says this is from a glass negative? What kind of scanner did you use? Great detail.

Thanks for your nice comments. I am sorry I don't know how to do warm colour balance I've had a little try using colour balance just add a tad yellow it looks a little warmer I suppose. I've only ever concentrated on learning how to colourize and get the skin tones as close to a real colour photo and haven't learn much else about photoshop I am a complete dummy to experiment further than the paint brush, layers, levels or curves one day I shall take a further step and learn more.
