Removing creases?

Anyone have any suggestions removing the white areas (creases?) from this picture?

Ive added another layer and erased everything but the problem areas, I just dont know what is the best method of bringing those areas back down.

Re: Removing creases?

I'd suggest a combination of burning (the lower highlights) and cloning/healing for the totally blown out areas.

Re: Removing creases?

if you still have the original... get the best scan you can to start with.... scan in color with everything automatic turned off.... turn photo 180 degrees and scan again... maybe even scan again turning the photo 90 degrees... save as tiff ... or Jpeg not gif.... load all scans into Photoshop and drag them all onto one working picture... line up the different scan layers using difference mode.. then try different modes like darken, multiply at different opacities till most of the white is gone

Re: Removing creases?

It is possible to make it better.
In a smaller format, add a nice frame and hang it.
