Damaged Photo

Hi All,
First I would like to say hello to one and all. I found this site through need and like what I see so far. I am trying to help a old lady who is dear to us reclaim a little of her family history, but I am at a loss as to where to begin to be very honest. I have attached the photo ( I think!) any suggestions would be truly appreciated.

Re: Damaged Photo

Hello,
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I use CS4, user level, I am a bit of a purist when it comes to photography, so what I used to do in a dark room I am proficient with, the rest, well! I am certainly not in the novice league,in general, but I have never attempted a restore either, so on this front, I openly admit to being a novice. I will view the tutorials as time allows me too.
Once again, thank you.

DBDingo,
Certainly an interesting result with the wall replacement. Very nice though. I thought I'd mention that it appears you may have included some shadow in the hair of the woman on the left. By removing the hairs shadow, it will look a bit more proportional.
