Help...old photo needs cleaning

Hi Everyone...

Tomorrow is my dads birthday and I have been working on this photo today of him and I when I was a baby. It is one of my favorite photos because he is looking at me so sweet. Here is what I have done so far from the original..I have been using paint shop pro and roxio....any help or advice would be wonderful..I will add the one that I have been working on...in my next post...

When I did my eyes they look blue and they are supposed to be brown..lol....so far this is what I have and still working on it...

I think you could use more levels or curves adjustments + color balance.

Baby have usually blue eye, whatever colour they turn when older, (same for the hair, I use to be blonde with curly hair when I was a baby, I now got straight very dark hair)

You have lot of "neutrals" in your image (white wall, the rabbit ears, the door). I am not familiar with PSP but in the colour correction tools you might have a way to sample a colour to make it neutral. That should enhance your colour cast in a an instant. And you can still refine your results with some curves applied to the main subject. You might also consider adding some details in the baby's dress and the rabbit, that went all white because of the direct flash light.

That sure is a cute picture of you and your dad. I am sorry I did not see your post yesterday, so I am probably too late with my efforts. In any case I hope your father has a happy birthday.

I did numerous things to the pictures and using levels, curves and a little sharpening. I thought your picture might have had too much green and a little too bright. I washed out the detail in the bunny ears.

In any case here is my efforts.

I worked on this for a few moments, because I wanted to see what was hiding under that fog.....so here it is...
I adjusted the color curves..
corrected a few of the flaws..

Hey all you all are great...better than I can do...and chillin I started too however I read that you said to use the curves and color balancing...and saw how that was done...I am always making my photos dark...but since you mentioned the curves and the color balancing I have been doing much better...thank you soo much for your help.... *
